Get Together Northwest is now accepting applications for our 2012-2013 year. Get Together Northwest is an organization that brings together business people with Christ-centered ministries and gives those in business the opportunity to share their knowledge, time, resources, contacts, and expertise to help meet the needs of these Christ-centered, non-profit organizations. Get Together Northwest meets the 2nd Thursday of the month, September through May (except December) from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. Each year we choose between 7-12 partner ministries that we promote by focusing on what they do and helping to meet their needs.
Before submitting your application, please review the following requirements for GTNW Partner Ministries:
- Be Christ-centered in your approach.
- Have your own 501(c)3.
- Have needs that can be met by the business community.
- Have a desire to build relationships with business people.
- The Executive Director must attend the monthly luncheons which are on the second Thursday of the month from September to May (except December.)
- The Executive Director must attend the Partner Ministry Orientation (usually in August.)
- Submit clear, specific needs lists each month by the deadline.
- Respond in a prompt fashion to those meeting your needs.
There is a screening process. Then our board of directors will vote on our partner ministries. All partner ministries need to be approved by the board of directors. Ministries remain partner ministries for one year. At the end of one year, the partner ministry meets with the Executive Director to see if the relationship was mutually beneficial. The board of directors decides whether a partner ministry continues for another year.
We are looking for a variety of ministries of different sizes, levels of development and areas of ministry. Our goal is for the business people in attendance to use the gifts God has given them for business to serve ministries. This happens most often and is most effective when business people have the opportunity to build relationships with ministries. When these relationships are formed, it is amazing how God uses the business people to meet the needs of ministries.
If you have never attended a Get Together meeting, please attend one of our final meetings of this season on Thursday, April 12th or May 10th from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm in the multi-purpose building at 15555 Stuebner Airline Rd. (on the Champion Forest Baptist Church campus). The cost for the catered lunch is $15.00. Attending one of these meeting will give you a clear idea of what GTNW does and help you determine if this would be a good partnership for you.
