Swift and Grateful Reaction from Charities receiving donated office supplies

“Office supplies are a significant on-going cost for us; this donation from ExxonMobil will allow us to provide more services to those hurting and disadvantaged in our community.”  – Roy Wooten, executive director of Shield Bearer Counseling Centers.

More than $2,500.00 worth of office supplies was donated to The Get Together Northwest by ExxonMobil to be distributed to Houston area charities on September 11, 2014.

The supplies were picked up from ExxonMobil and delivered to The Get Together Northwest courtesy of Irion Filtration.

The trailer with over 50 boxes filled with office supplies and accessories was parked near the Multi-purpose building of Champion Forest Baptist Church where The Get Together Northwest hold their monthly NetCaring™ luncheons.  Ministry and Non-profit leaders lined up for the opportunity to fill their office supply needs.

“This is so great!” said Ginger Smith, executive director of Mission Centers of Houston.

The donated office supplies have a special meaning to Gwen Franke, executive director of Cy-Fair Helping Hands, who received two months’ worth of office supplies.   “We are an all-volunteer organization; this helps us in a big way!”

ExxonMobil’s, Kristin Lewis, spearheaded the campaign to acquire, gather, itemize and box the items prior to pick up.
