Ginger Smith was amazing as always!  Her work at Mission Centers of Houston is awesome.  The programs they have and how they love their neighborhood and the people there, well God is truly using them.

Our next luncheon is Thursday, February 9th and I invite everyone to attend.  Mission Greenspoint is our highlighted ministry in  February.  They do absolutely wonderful work there also.

We meet from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm in the multi-purpose building at Champion Forest Baptist Church, 15555 Stuebner Airline, Houston, TX 77069.  Cost of the catered lunch is $15.00.  For more information or to make reservations please email lisa@gettogethernw.org

Our next luncheon is November 10th…this will be the last luncheon in 2011.  I look forward to seeing you there.

Buckner Family Place

  • Resident preparing to move out of Family Place at end of October – pray she continues education, counseling, and other supportive services.
  • New family getting ready to move into Family Place in October.
  • Thank you Get Together NW for meeting needs and sharing Christ!  Car literally fell apart on freeway recently and need was met within an hour or so of a vehicle!  God is good!

Hope House

Praises:

  • Thanksgiving for successful benefit dinner.
  • For growth of neighborhood participation at Hope House.

Pray:

  • For God to send residents who Hope House can minister to and are the right fit for Hope House.
  • Continued growth of neighborhood participation in ministry.

Hospitality House

  • New volunteer Admin. Asst. & Grant writer – Praise the Lord!!!
  • Toilets and new faucets provided by Ansley Plumbing
  • Expansion of our ministry – need partnering churches or donations – $35K
  • New Donors
  • Golf Tournament – golfers to register their teams and hole sponsors.

Mission Centers of Houston

  • Our finances.  Our operating account is very, very low.  Pray that God will sustain this ministry and provide for the financial needs.

Mission Greenspoint

  • There is a possibility that our building could be sold. Pray for God’s protection and guidance as to what we might need to do.

TOMAGWA

  • Praise for the successful opening of our new satellite clinic in Magnolia on September 19.
  • Please pray for God’s timing, direction and financial support to open a dental clinic.

Our kick-off luncheon was amazing.  We had a wonderful crowd, the food was good and almost every need presented was potentially met.  God was truly working!  Sheriff Garcia engaged our audience and everyone there wanted to know more and how they could help him with his programs.  It was an awesome day.

Our next luncheon is October 13th and Debra McCammon from Hospitality House will be our featured speaker.  Hope you can join us.

Today was the Partner Ministry Orientation.  We had the Partner Ministries from both Get Together Central and Get Together Northwest there and it was great.  Cathy Lawdanski, the Executive Director of Get Together Central led the orientation.  She is the person who has been a major force in the Get Together model.  Lisa Butler, our Executive Director here at the Get Together Northwest went over how to compile the needs list.  Our orientation today was a basic “Get Together 101″ class.  Pastor Matthew Smith from John Wesley United Methodist church gave us all a much needed word of encouragement.  Thank you Matthew!  And Ginger Smith, Executive Director of Mission Centers of Houston,  closed us up with her “Confessions of an Executive Director”.  We will have a strong year of Get Together!  Looking forward to seeing you there.
